Welcome to Mining Stats

What this site is, what data it tracks, and what to expect from the blog.

What this site is

Mining Stats tracks Bitcoin and altcoin mining: pool distribution, network hashrate, hashprice, security risk, and rental markets. Data is collected every few minutes from public sources (mempool.space, miningpoolstats, CoinGecko, Luxor, NiceHash, MiningRigRentals) and surfaced through a single dashboard plus per-entity pages.

What's on the blog

Two kinds of posts:

  • Weekly auto-reports — every Monday, a generated post summarising the week's mining data: hashrate trend, pool gainers and losers, hashprice movement, and a Nakamoto coefficient update. Pure data, deterministic.
  • Manual articles — published when something is worth a longer take: a pool's history, a centralization analysis, an explainer on a mining mechanic.

Both are listed at /blog, or you can subscribe via RSS.

Where to look first

Methodology

Pool names are normalised to operational entities (e.g. Foundry USA and foundrydigital.com resolve to one entity). Per-coin source preference picks the more reliable upstream (mempool.space first for Bitcoin, miningpoolstats for everything else). Concentration metrics (Nakamoto coefficient, top-3/5 share) compute over entities, not raw pool names.

Suggestions and corrections welcome.
